Perioperative nursing covers anesthesia - and surgical nursing care of the surgical patient. Within the concept is pre-, intra-and postoperative care. Peri is actually meant as everything around you. In operation, medical care, therefore, everything around the surgical patient or surgery. Preoperative mean that there is time before a surgery or a surgical procedure, intraoperative mean time during an operation, ie. the surgery. Intraoperative nursing is the time from when the patient enters the operating room until the operation is complete and until the patient transported to post-operative care.
